Your Strength is What Defines You
The other day a customer of mine was ordering flowers for his girlfriend. She had lost her brother to suicide and it was the anniversary of his death. He wanted to acknowledge the day and let her know he was thinking of her.
When I asked what he wanted on the card message he simply wrote: “Your strength is what defines you.” And I thought what a beautiful, simple message to acknowledge a tragedy and how she was able to cope with it.
It got me thinking about what that phrase means. I believe it emphasizes the importance of one’s inner qualities in shaping their identity and character. It suggests that who you are as a person is largely determined by your capacity to overcome challenges, face adversity, and demonstrate strength of character. A perfect phrase for what my customer feels about his girlfriend.
Inner strength refers to the resilience, determination, and fortitude that individuals possess within themselves to cope with challenges, adversity, and difficult situations. It encompasses emotional, mental, and spiritual qualities that enable individuals to persevere, remain positive, and maintain their sense of self-worth and integrity in the face of adversity.
